Keeping Our Families Healthy

Do to the current situation that continues to develop in Massachusetts and with those guidelines changing daily we have decided to postpone classes for 30 days to ensure the safety of our families and staff. We will continue to access the situation and update everyone accordingly. We will send out a message tomorrow with some ideas for keeping music in your child's life during this break.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Wishing all our families health!

Best Regards,

Sara Wheeler

Little Groove Music Director

As we go through flu season and specifically with the spread of the Coronavirus, we wanted to update you on all that Little Groove is doing to keep our families and staff as healthy as possible. To decrease chances of diseases spreading we are putting into place additional cleaning protocols and buying more cleaning supplies.

We believe that if we all work together we can create a space of cleanliness to keep you and your children healthy as well as the other families and our instructors. Our top priority is the health and safety of our families and staff.

Below, we have included a list of policies we will be implementing at the start of Spring Session 1.

  • We ask for all parents corporation in keeping your child home from class if they have any signs of being sick. We want to respect the health of the families in class. On our part, we will be more flexible with our make-up policy to help you make it to all the classes you registered for.

  • We will have hand sanitizer and clorox wipes accessible to our families before, during and after class.

  • In order to ensure all equipment is cleaned after every use, our classes will now be 40 minutes. This will give our teachers enough time to clean all the equipment extra thoroughly in between every class.

  • ALL shared equipment such as balls, scarves, maracas, drums, tambourines, blocks/stacking cups, puppets and flashlights will be wiped down before and after each use.

  • ALL common-touched surfaces such as counter-tops, door knobs, and handles will be disinfected with bleach-based wipes and/or bleach-based sprays at the beginning and end of each class by our instructors.

  • We encourage all participants to use hand sanitizer at the start and close of each class and also encourage washing with hot water and soap for at least 20 seconds after class is over.

  • Our instructors will be washing their hands at the beginning and end of each class. For more guidance, please see CDC: When and How to Wash Your Hands

    Additional reminders for everyone:

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread this way.

  • Cover coughs and sneezes. Use a tissue to cover coughs and sneezes, then dispose of the tissue. When a tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

  • Wash hands for 20 seconds. Washing hands often under clean, running water can help prevent the spread of germs. Commonly missed spots are thumbs and between fingers. If you cannot wash your hands, use alcohol based hand sanitizer with at least 60-95% alcohol. For more guidance see the CDC: When and How to Wash Your Hands

We want to do as much as possible to keep everyone healthy. We will be posting all these guidelines on our website as well as providing printed handouts the first week of class. If you'd like to discuss this further, feel free to reach out to me directly.

    Thank you,
Sara Wheeler – Little Groove Director
